With over eight centuries of history, Serra da Estrela cheese is an essential landmark in Portuguese gastronomy, whose production is maintained in a traditional way.
In this experience, taking place at the Casa da Ínsua Queijaria, you will have the opportunity to learn about the Casa da Ínsua cheese history, as well as try the cheese itself, and enter the cheese production line - starting between 9:30 and 10:00, depending on the curdling process of the sheep's milk.
At 11.00 am the hands-on activity of the workshop ends and the visit continues in the three cheese preservation and maturing chambers. We also give you the opportunity to visit the sheep fold and the thistle field next to the Queijaria.
