Maputo National Park

Hoyo-hoyo! – We welcome you to the Maputo National Park.

The Maputo National Park, is located in the extreme south of Mozambique, about 2h30 from the center of Maputo and the city's airport.

Flanked by the Indian Ocean and Maputo Bay, this conservation area of more than 77,000 hectares includes extensive and impressive African fauna, with about 250 elephants as its inhabitants, as well as hippos and crocodiles in the lagoons, and also giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, impalas and wildebeests along its length. It is also possible to find more than 350 species of birds in the Park.

The Park was created in 1932, precisely in order to protect the elephant population that lived in the area. Since 2010 other animals have been repopulated here, from South Africa, making this reserve an ideal place to admire these majestic animals and do birdwatching.

Throughout this area, it is possible to find several lagoons, unspoilt beaches along the coast, meadows and coastal forests on the dunes.

Discover the Park and let yourself be enchanted by the colors, life, nature and diversity that we are gifted with on each visit.

We wait for you for a pleasant and restful stay at Montebelo Milibangalala Bay Resort. See you soon!
