Considered one of the best natural parks in the world, sought after by travelers from all continents for moments of adventure and leisure in an environmental framework of great exuberance. In just a few years, Gorongosa is well on its way to becoming, once again, “the place where Noah left his Ark". Today, scientists consider Gorongosa to be one of the most special and unique national parks on Earth, a hotspot of 'biodiversity', a place that must be saved for future generations to enjoy. Every guest that visits Gorongosa plays a vital role in this amazing wildlife conservation effort. 

By adopting a 21st Century conservation model of balancing the needs of wildlife and people, we are protecting and saving this beautiful wilderness, returning it to its rightful place as one of Africa’s greatest parks.

Among the main attractions of the park include the old Lion House, the viewpoint of hippos, the limestone cliffs of Chiringoma, the lake Urema floodplains located to the northwest, cascades of Murombozi River in the Serra da Gorongosa, bicycle excursions to the Vinho community and the setting of the sun in Bué Maria.

The Park is closed from mid-December until the end of March because that is our rainy season. After reopening, some of the game drive roads may remain closed until they are safe to drive on.
When travelling in and out of the Park, you must ensure that the Park entrance gate is open.
